A FRA is part of the planning process, to ensure that the development is considering the recommendations from the Environment Agency (EA) in terms of mitigation measures to ensure the project is safe and sustainable in issues related to flood risk.

Requirements

The requirements for a FRA vary depending on the location of the proposed development. An initial appraisal is normally carried out to identify the Flood Zone of the proposed development. It is also worth checking if the proposed development is within a critical drainage area.
