SUSTAINABILITY STATEMENTS

What is it?

A Sustainability Statement, is a summary of the Environmental Strategy for the project. It should be considered at early stages of the design, usually at concept design. Reason why a number of Local Authorities throughout the UK request for this to be done as part of a planning application.

The items to be considered can vary depending on the location and benchmark or methodology to be followed. However, in broad terms it should include:

  • Energy and CO2 emissions
  • Transport
  • Environmental Impact of Materials
  • Water Management
  • Pollution
  • Land Use and Ecology
  • Management
  • Waste
  • Health and Well- being
  • Indoor Air Quality
  • Innovation

.

We are registered, certified and qualified assessors with the BRE, Stroma, Quidos, Elmhurst and the USGBC for LEED®, BREEAM, Code for Sustainable Homes (now superseded), Home Quality Mark assessments.
