The setting influenced the decision of designing an underground introvert villa. As a result of the extreme weather conditions, it has been decided to bury most of the habitable rooms of the house, by taking advantage of the year- round stable underground temperatures, minimizing the building exposure to extreme winter and summer conditions.
A floating pavilion works as the opposite by having a lightweight structure that can be easily heated or cooled and can benefit from the pleasant weather conditions during mid-season.
The floating pavilion and landscape proposal creates a forest within a desert environment. This forest is made from steel columns that act as “camouflage” for the floating villa’s structure, and also gives the visitors a consciousness of trespassing private area.
